FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: ingots of low-ductile steel "04Х14Т5Р2Ф-Ш" with boron content of 2.0 to 3.0% and 480×1775±25 mm size are cast by electroslag remelting. External ingot surface is ground to remove casting flaws to the size of 465±5×1775±25 mm. A central through bore of 100±5.0 mm diameter is drilled. Ingot blanks are heated to 1040-1050°C and pierced by a rotary piercer to form hollow shell of 450×int.290×2890-3100 mm size with diametrical cobbing Δ from 2.17 to 4.26% and rolling-out µlng from 1.65 to 1.73. Shells are rolled at pilger mill to form pipe stock sections of 284×11×25500-27500 mm size with rolling-out µp=9.86 and diametrical cobbing Δ=36.2%. Pipe sections are cut into pipe pieces of multiple 10250-11000 mm length and 5000-5500 mm remainder, and are straightened. Pipe pieces undergo mechanical processing, namely they are counterbored and turned to form cylindrical pipe blanks of 278.5±1.8×52+1.5/-1.0×5000-5500 mm size and hot-roll formed into hexagonal pipe blanks of 252.6±1.8×5+1.5/-1.0×4300+80/-30 mm size.
EFFECT: reduced metal consumption and rack weight, along with increased weight of spent nuclear fuel and enhanced rack reliability.
