FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: during design engineering the technical requirements to the pump performance are established alongside with the set of parameters describing the geometry of the pump elements. The characteristics of design sections of a flow part are determined and using the method of numerical simulation the parameters of intermediate sections of a flow part are estimated. The section design parameters are determined using the results of 3-D modelling of the flow part, selecting section optimisation parameters, the variation range for each optimisation parameter is pre-set, a numerical array is formed within the pre-selected ranges of their variation, from which an optimum set is sampled. The pump model is fabricated using 3-D printer and the model is hydrotested with measurement of characteristics. The test results are recalculated for full-scale characteristics, compared, and the mathematical model is corrected. The named operations are repeated until coincidence of calculated and experimental characteristics. A full-scale sample is fabricated, its characteristics are measured, compared with preset and calculated characteristics and the mathematical model characteristics are corrected.
EFFECT: improvement of energy efficiency reliability of pumps at lowering expenditures with decrease of cost of design engineering and field tests.
