FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: preoperative blood hemopoietins are measured by describing an amplitude, a time of development and a membrane potential recovery rate associated with Ca2+-induced erythrocyte hyperpolarising response (HPR); blood concentrations of erythropoietin (EPO) and tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) are also determined. If they are found to belong to respective confidential intervals, the postoperative blood free haemoglobin concentration Y is determined by formula. If Y appears to excess 40 mg/dl, a high risk of postoperative haemolytic complications is predicted.

EFFECT: enabling quantitative assessment of prediction of degree of manifestation of postoperative haemolysis in the patient.
