SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a drying device which comprises a displacement path on which the paper web with a coating liquid applied on it is moved; a plurality of drying ovens located side by side along the displacement path for drying the web with a coating liquid applied on it; a plurality of displacing rollers provided in each of the said drying ovens for displacement of the web along the displacement path; a plurality of roller assemblies each of which consists of one or more of the said displacing rollers, and which are separated from each other along the displacement path; and a plurality of displacing motors connected to the respective roller assemblies, for rotation of the said displacing rollers, at that one of the roller assemblies located downstream relative to the displacement path, rotates with a lower rotational speed than one of the roller assemblies located upstream.

EFFECT: ensuring suppression of web break and formation of rivels in the web.
