FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: igniter includes an ignition plug with central and side electrodes, a forechamber and fuel and air supply channels to the forechamber. The forechamber has a cylindrical shape and includes a housing and an internal cavity. The fuel supply channel to the forechamber is made inside a central electrode and has a central outlet opening led out to the forechamber along the ignition plug axis. A system of air supply channels to the forechamber is made inside the forechamber housing in the form of inlet, intermediate and lower headers, as well as the first and the second channels. The first channel attaches inlet and intermediate headers, and the second channel attaches intermediate and lower headers. The lower header is connected with side openings to the internal cavity of the forechamber. The side openings can be radial at an angle to the ignition plug axis or tangential. The side electrode of the ignition plug can have an L-shape and consist of two parts: current-carrying and operating ones. The side electrode can be provided at least with one opening.
EFFECT: increasing power and diameter of an ignition flame, as well as distance of its penetration into a cylinder combustion chamber, which provides for more reliable ignition at start of an internal combustion engine, especially at low temperatures and high humidity, as well as more complete fuel combustion.
