FIELD: physics, optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical systems for constructing touch panels. An optical sensor comprises a touch-sensitive surface, a reflector which covers part of the periphery of the touch-sensitive surface, a photodetector, an objective lens, two spaced-apart emitters, all optically coupled with the reflector, and a computer, wherein the output of the photodetector is connected to the input of the computer and the outputs of the computer are connected to the first and second emitters; the sensor further includes a cylindrical lens which is optically coupled with the objective lens, and the photodetector has a linear shape and placed in parallel to the touch-sensitive surface.
EFFECT: faster and more accurate determination of touch coordinates on a touch-sensitive surface.
