FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: illumination system comprises a laser radiation source in the form of a system of n diode lasers, a device for forming parallel laser beams and a focusing component. The device for forming parallel laser beams is in the form of a system of n fibre-optic guides, an optical projection system comprising at least two optical components which form a first telescopic system, and a plane-parallel plate. The input of each fibre-optic guide is connected to the corresponding diode laser. Output areas of the optic guides are rigidly connected to each other in a single connecting unit such that their axes are parallel to each other, and the ends are located in one plane. The plane-parallel plate is made of material having properties of an active medium for formation of generated laser radiation therein, and the input surface thereof is coated with a spectrum-dividing coating, which maximally transmits radiation of the diode lasers and reflects the generated radiation, and the output surface thereof is coated with a coating which partially transmits generated radiation.

EFFECT: high uniformity of illumination of the working area, simple design, reduced size, high reliability and wider operating temperature range.
