FIELD: optical instrumentation engineering. SUBSTANCE: Galileo system has positive objective lens and negative ocular, meniscus lens with semitransparent coating of convex surface, plane-parallel plate with sighting mark, and illumination system for the latter. Elements are positioned inside system so that semitransparent surface forms sighting mark image in rear focal plane of objective lens. Provision is made for variant in which concave mirror is replaced by objective lens surface with positive radius of curvature on which semitransparent coating is applied.
