FIELD: optical devices.

SUBSTANCE: device for forming a laser radiation beam with a rectangular cross-section and uniform intensity distribution contains an emitter, an optical system for generating radiation, two focusing prism rasters with an odd number of edges and crossed at an angle of 90°. Behind the optical system, the device is made in the form of two cylindrical systems installed one after another, crossed at an angle of 90° with a combined image plane. Each cylindrical system has a focusing prism raster with a longitudinal movement drive, behind which there is a conversion system with adjustable focal length and optical magnification equal to the ratio of the specified cross-sectional dimensions of a rectangular laser beam to the width of the edge of the focusing prism raster. In this case, its front focal plane is combined with the rear focal plane of the focusing prism raster, and the focal length is equal to the ratio of the distance to the image plane of the device to the optical magnification.

EFFECT: formation of a beam with a rectangular cross-section and a uniform intensity distribution at given variable ranges.
