FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines. An internal combustion engine includes cylinders (1) and (11) with removable heads, pistons (2) and (10) with piston rings, a gas distributing mechanism, a cooling system, a lubrication system, a feed system and an ignition system. Pistons (2) and (10) that are connected in pairs through tie-rods (3) and (9) to frame (5) with toothed racks (6) and (7) so that if one piston (10) is at the upper dead point, then, the other piston (2) is at the lower dead point. Conversion of back-and-forth movement of pistons (2) and (10) to rotational movement of an output shaft occurs due to movement of frames (5) with toothed racks (6) and (7) that are engaged with toothed sectors (15) and (16) of wheels (13) installed on output shaft (12). Frames (5) are provided with upper and lower toothed racks (7) and (6). Upper and lower toothed racks (7) and (6) are offset relative to each other. The upper part of frame 5 is provided with one toothed rack (7), and the lower part of the frame is provided with two toothed racks (6), the longitudinal axes of which are offset symmetrically relative to the axis of the pistons. A version of engine design is described.
EFFECT: reduction of lateral forces acting on the side of the piston on cylinder walls.
