FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: modelling of atherosclerosis is carried out by feeding examined animals by atherogenic diet. As the atherogenic diet for rats for 12 months used are: drinking water, beet roots, carrots, potatoes and grains of wheat from Prisursky subregion of the Chuvash Republic, adverse in respect to the spread of atherosclerosis, ischemic heart disease, and acute myocardium infarction mortality.

EFFECT: method provides the creation of the atherosclerosis model, maximally close to natural conditions of the people's habitat, which makes it possible to identify specific mechanisms of pathogenesis and elaborate effective procedures for the initial prevention of the disease.
