FIELD: biology; medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to experimental biology and medicine and can be used for modelling essential hypercholesterolemia experimentally. Method consists in the fact that outbred male rats aged 12–14 months, weighing 300–350 g for three months are fed with semolina mash boiled on water so that 1 kg of groats is added 2 kg of cane sugar and 2 kg of melted butter oil, wherein individually each animal is given 50 g of white unsalted lard per day.
EFFECT: using the invention enables developing a simple, non-invasive method for simulating hypercholesterolemia using a low-cost nutritional factor which provides adequate reproduction of the model.
