FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used for compensation of reactive power of mainly distant power transmission lines and change of voltage on them. The device includes a magnetic conductor with yokes and the main rod divided into two longitudinal rods, the first one of which is enveloped with a control winding and a subsequent part of a power winding connected as per an autotransformer scheme, and the other one is enveloped with an excitation winding. A compensation winding and a common part of the power winding envelope both rods with windings arranged on them. Voltage control is performed by changing adhesion of the main magnetic flux to the series part of the power winding, which is made by control of current of the control winding.
EFFECT: combination in a shunting reactor-autotransformer of control functions of reactive power and control of voltage in a wide range on a power transmission line.
