FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used to compensate for excess reactive power, mainly long-distance power lines and change of voltage thereon. Device comprises magnetic conductor with yokes and main rod, around which there is control winding, series part of network winding, included in autotransformer circuit, compensation winding and common part of network winding. Unit of additional change of reactive power of device is connected to compensation winding. Voltage control is performed by changing adhesion of the main magnetic flux to the series part of the power winding, which is made by control of current of the control winding.

EFFECT: technical result consists in combination in the shunting reactor-autotransformer functions of controlling reactive power and voltage control in a wide range on the power transmission line.
