FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: belt conveyor tensioner comprises tensioning drum (1) with suspended weight (2) and belt catching device. Tensioning drum is secured at carriage (3). Said belt catching device comprises rack (4) provided with spring-loaded rod (5) secured at said carriage. Roller (6) is fitted at one end of rod to contact with belt (7). Rod opposite end is provided with metal toothed plate (8) to interact with aforesaid rack. Said plate fits in recesses of said rack at breakage of the belt to allow hovering of carriage with drum and weight at vertical guides (11).
EFFECT: simplified design and higher reliability.
