FIELD: mechanical engineering; material handling equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to conveyor building, namely, to inclined belt conveyors with catching device and it can be used in inclined conveyors designed for carrying loads in mines and quarries. Proposed conveyor consists of belt endlessly closed on upper and lower end drums installed of frames, two drive and two tension drums and catching device. Tension drums are mounted on trolleys to move along guides. Trolleys are mechanically intercoupled by balancing mechanism connected with trolleys by flexible members. Catching device includes two strands of steel wire rope secured on conveyor frame. Free end of one strand of wire rope is secured on frame of upper end drum. Second strand of wire rope is laid over deflecting sheaves installed for rotation in zone of upper end drum and its free end is secured on trolley of tension drum arranged from side of upper end drum. Plate is secured on trolley being arranged with clearance under idle run of belt adjoining tension drum. Spring-loaded lever is hinge-mounted on conveyor frame for engagement with said run of belt.
EFFECT: possibility of catching torn off belt of conveyor simultaneously on carrying and idle (return) runs of belt.
