FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: this method comprises organisation of liquid metal flows at the first wall points whereat expected are the maximum fluxed of high-energy alphas particles generated by synthesis. Note here that lithium, the lightest of refractory metal, can be used for first wall protection. Lithium coat depth should ensure the absorption of fast alpha particles in liquid phase of the material that will not bring about its structural changes. Liquid metal ply is created by injection of liquid and/or solid particle of working metal into plasma. Depth of said ply is selected to exceed that of penetration of alpha particles their energy not exceeding 4 MeV. Temperature of said first wall is maintained higher than working metal fusion point and lower than its boiling point.
EFFECT: longer continuous operation owing to higher wear resistance of the first wall material.
