METHOD OF TREATING ANTERIOR OCCLUSION IN PATIENTS AGED 6-12 YEARS OLD BY MEANS OF FACIAL MASK AND I.A. POSTNIKOV'S APPLIANCE Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61B17/24 A61C8/00

SUBSTANCE: method involves designing an anterior occlusion appliance comprising a palatal screw, side beams, rings or crowns for 4^th and 6^th teeth. The screw represents a Bertoni's three dimensional screw with three independent guides. A front beam is mounted additionally to advance front teeth. Orthodontic crowns laser soldered up to the beams are mounted on the upper 4^th and 6^th teeth. Two elastic retainer hooks are laser soldered up to each side of the crowns; the elastic retainers connect the appliance for treating anterior occlusion to Ormco facial mask. They are attached to the patient and used together until vertical and sagittal apertures disappear either completely or partially. That is followed by removing the Bertoni's screw and all the beams and guides from the patient's oral cavity. Thereafter, the patient uses the crowns with the hooks and elastic retainers, as well as the facial mask until the anterior occlusion, vertical and sagittal apertures and reverse incisal disocclusion relieve completely. The retention period involves using Persin's appliance or Andresen-Haupl's appliance, whereas the anterior occlusion appliance and facial mask are removed.

EFFECT: combined use of the anterior occlusion appliance and facial mask enables the method providing the clinical effectiveness in dentofacial anomalies, particularly the anterior occlusion, specifically its gnathic forms in the children aged 6-12 years old.
