FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment, in particular, to measurement of distances to the surface of metal surfaces. The device comprises a cylindrical core having a longitudinal axis; three discs or flanges installed on the longitudinal axis of the core; coils from wire arranged around the longitudinal axis of the core between all adjacent pairs of discs or flanges, comprising the first coil between the first pair of discs or flanges and the second coil between the second pair of discs or flanges. Besides, the wire of each coil comprises a conducting metal, mainly with a dielectric oxide or ceramic coating. At the same time discs or flanges are made not from polymer material, and the core and discs or flanges are made as mutually fixed at the space ratio. The device is made as capable of detecting location to the metal object located outside the device.

EFFECT: possibility to use the device at very high temperatures without necessity to use additional cooling means.
