FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: flow metre has a measurement pipe and an at least one exciting coil (6, 7) lying on or near the measurement pipe, where the said coil generates a magnetic field which penetrates the inner channel of the measurement pipe. The measurement pipe at least partially consists of magnetically conductive material (ferromagnetic metal) which has relative permeability µr greater than 10 and is formed by a current-conducting supporting pipe (21) which serves as the outer wall of the pipe and coated with a layer (22) of electrically insulating material. The magnetically conductive material has layer thickness which is much smaller than the inner diametre of the measurement pipe. In one version the flow metre also includes a magnetic feedback device outside the measurement pipe for controlling the magnetic field.
EFFECT: invention increases measurement accuracy and simultaneously reduces expenses on generating a uniform magnetic field in the inner channel of the measurement pipe.
