FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to jet propellants for liquid, solid-fuel and hybrid jet engines, as well as piston, turbo-jet engines. Certain metals are better jet fuels on adjusted calorific capacity (per unit oxygen spent). The jet fuel (and versions thereof) contains organometal compounds whose composition includes bonded metals, e.g., metal hydrides or metal borides. The oxidant used in the fuel is a nitro compound, e.g., ammonium dinitramide. The combustible material is preferably a mixture of an organometal compound with a liquid or solid boron compound or with boron, in order to increase heat liberation of the reaction by forming boron nitride. Boron can also be jet fuel in the form of boron nitrate. The combustible material used is trimethylaluminium, dimethylberyllium, beryllium borohydride and aluminium boride. The oxidant used can also be boron nitrate or beryllium nitrate. Presence of fine (preferably nanosized) carbon, soot, graphite or graphene in the fuel is desirable.
EFFECT: obtaining fuel for liquid, solid-fuel and hybrid jet engines.
