DEVICE FOR WOUND CLOSURE AFTER RADICAL MASTECTOMY Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61B17/10

Abstract RU 2547695 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: device is applied on a wound. K-wires are delivered through wound edges perpendicularly to its length and partially through subcutaneous fat. The wound edges are brought together by bent branches of the device until they adjoin. After the wound edges are brought together, the wound is closed with a vertical interrupted suture. The device is removed. Both branches are bent smoothly longitudinally at an angle of 70° in a plane. The branches have three bent long slots used to deliver the K-wires through them at various angles in a plane of the branches separated by solid-metal partitions. A full absence of tissue tension at the moment of suturing provides avoiding suture cutting through at the moment of closure, and suture leak with underlying greater defect of skin and subcutaneous fat formed after radical mastectomy and enables simplifying the procedure of blood-free stapling metal suturing considerably. Correcting the wire direction after placed into the device enables matching the wound edges precisely while bringing them together and preventing excessive tissue tension after suturing and applying a contractor.

EFFECT: improving the aesthetic effect of the operation.
