FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention describes a moulded article which is formed from a polymer composition and methods for production thereof. Described is a method of making a moulded article. The method includes selecting a propylene-based polymer and an olefin-based elastomer. The polymer is characterised by a refraction index (n1) and a melt flow rate (MFR). The elastomer is characterised by a refraction index (n2) and a melt index (MI), wherein and . Particles of the elastomer are added to the polymer matrix. The mixture is exposed to shear velocity of 8000 s-1 to 12000 s-1. Described is a polymer composition containing 60 wt % to 99 wt % of a propylene-based polymer matrix. Also described is a moulded article which is characterised by turbidity of less than 20%.

EFFECT: high transparency and/or low turbidity of polymer mixtures which do not require the same refraction indices of separate polymer components.
