SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. The method for chemical purification of titanium tetrachloride includes successively feeding titanium tetrachloride into a cascade of reactors while mixing, heating the titanium tetrachloride and treatment thereof with copper powder. The mixture is then settled and separated into titanium tetrachloride and solid wastes. In the first reactor, the titanium tetrachloride is heated to 60°C for 0.5-0.7 hours. In the second reactor, the titanium tetrachloride is treated with copper powder with a consumption rate of 1.3-2.45 kg of powder per ton of titanium tetrachloride. The contact time of the copper powder with the titanium tetrachloride is 1.2-1.95 hours.

EFFECT: invention increases the degree of purity of titanium tetrachloride from impurities, particularly chlorine, vanadium and sulphur, and reduces consumption of copper powder.
