FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: sea surface area under control is irradiated by different-wavelength radio waves with the help of scatterometer and altimeter arranged aboard two aircrafts. Scatterometer irradiates controlled surface at the angle whereat registered signal defines the Bragg's mechanism of scatter. It irradiates in all channels the signal of identical polarisation to register the latter. Altimeter irradiates the controlled water surface to nadir to get the data for determination of the dispersion of sea surface slopes created by different-scale waves. Signal registered by scatterometer and obtained dispersion of sea surface slopes surface wave spectrum is calculated in resonance wavelength. Changes in surface wave spectrum space are analysed to evaluate thereof the contamination character.
EFFECT: higher validity of evaluation of sea area contamination.
