FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: centrifugal breather is related to aircraft engine technology, namely, to the design of a centrifugal breather of an aircraft gas turbine engine (GTE) breathing system. The centrifugal breather comprises a rotor with a centrifugal impeller set on it and placed in the straight boring of a casing in which an annular groove for oil draining is made. The impeller blades set opposite the oil draining groove are provided with a protrusion inserted in the groove. The impeller can be fitted by cross partitions forming cavities which are communicated with each other sequentially. An outlet channel from the annular groove of the casing is made tangential to the groove. The cylindrical surface of the casing and the impeller part mating it can be made stepwise.

EFFECT: better separation of oil from gas, lower oil consumption in an engine and reduced atmosphere pollution.
