FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: to determine adhesion shear strength of heat shielding coating the coating is applied on the substrate made as external surfaces of two coaxially installed cylinders pressed at butt joint, coating is applied in form of a ring overlapping the butt joint. After coating solidification the force is applied to the cylinders in opposite directions until the coating destruction. The coating is made as metal underlayer as part of the heat shielding coating. The underlayer is applied non0symmetrically along length relatively to the cylinders butt joint. After the transverse destruction of the underlayer the cylinders are re0installed with pressing at the butt joint, and on the destructed underlayer additionally by the plasma the ceramic layer of the heat shielding coating is applied in form of the ring. After the ceramic coating solidification the cylinders are heated within temperature range of hot section of the gas path of the power unit, and axial force is re-applied in opposite directions until shear of the ceramic layer from the underlayer of one of the cylinder, and actual shear force is determined.
EFFECT: labour intensity decreasing, increased accuracy of determination of the adhesion strength of the heat shielding coating, and assurance of the coating testing on samples under conditions similar to parts operation in hot sections of the gas path of the power units.
