FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fast laser denting with the help of laser device for denting textured siliceous electric steel strip bottom surface fed along production line. Note here that continuous-action laser beam features a high degree of focusing. Note also that the line of dents applied on top surface and that on bottom surface feature equal spacing but are shifted relative to each other for uniform decrease in metal losses. Spacing between adjacent lines on the same surface makes 6-12 mm, laser power makes 1000-3000 W while scanning speed makes 100-400 m/min. Lines of dents applied on steel strip by this process can decrease iron losses in steel strip by 10-16%.
EFFECT: higher efficiency, simultaneous denting on both surfaces of the strip.
