FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of manufacturing of construction materials. Treated facing material for use in gypsum facing boards includes facing material, the surface of which is treated with certain quantity of seed crystals, glued to the surface of the material, besides, the material is treated in the specified manner by a binding agent for gluing of seed crystals to its surface, besides, seed crystals are selected from the group that includes: CaCO₃, CaSO₄, BaSO₄, Na₂SO₄, KAl(SO₄)₂, CaMg(CO₃)₂, MgCO₃, K₂SO₄, Fe[SO₄]₃/FeSO₄, Al₂[SO₄]₃ and hydrated forms of the above. The method to produce the specified material includes the following stages: a) production of facing material; b) production of certain quantity of seed crystals and c) gluing of seed crystals at least to one surface of the material. A facing board includes an inner core from gypsum and treated facing material specified above.

EFFECT: increased adhesion of facing material and increased strength of facing boards at low content of starch or without it and lower water content.
