FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, and can be used in design of the crank presses and other forging-pressing machines with reciprocating movement of the work link subjected to overloads. The calculated number of containers is installed in the power loop created by the press frame, its actuator, deforming tool and machined item. Each container contains billet and piercer. The billet is made out of copper M1 or alloy having similar strengthening curve. The containers and piercers are made out of tool steel. Number of the containers and their dimensions are determined to ensure start of the plastic deformation of billets upon achievement of the force on the press slide 1.1Pr, where Pr is rated press force.

EFFECT: in case of overload the force on slide either does not increase or increases insignificantly during further press slide movement, so, accurate inertialess protection of the crank presses against force overload on slide is ensured under any existing rates of deformation of the machined item.
