FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: system employs two nested passive Q-switched fibre lasers with external pumping with radiation of an electrical current powered laser diode. The illuminated absorbing element used is the active fibre of one of the lasers. Pulse frequency is control is achieved owing to presence of optoelectronic feedback on the pulse frequency and the radiation power of the diode. Matching autogeneration of pulsed radiation is provided by synchronising modulation frequency and pumping current power with the frequency of the laser pulses of the system. Output radiation is amplified by an optical power amplifier.
EFFECT: stabilisation of pulsed radiation with two different optical frequencies, high accuracy and efficiency of converting energy.
