SUBSTANCE: brake shoe includes a composite friction element, a metal frame and a cast-iron insert. Weight of the working part of the insert comprises 20% to 55% of the insert weight.
EFFECT: increasing resistance of a shoe to impact thermal loads at operation by providing optimum ratio of weights of operating and non-operating parts of the insert in the shoe.
