FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method of making an array of photosensitive cells of a flat-panel X-ray image detector, where each photosensitive cell, which includes a photodetector part and a substrate, is placed on a common substrate while ensuring flatness of the photosensitive surface of the array and is fixed with adhesive which is applied on said substrate in advance. Before placing the photosensitive cells on the common substrate, working holes are made in the substrate, said holes being arranged in order on at least part of the area of the common substrate which corresponds to the area of the substrate of each photosensitive cell; the substrate is placed on a reference plane, having clamping means and enabling compensation for non-flatness of the common substrate by generating a clamping force. At least part of the clamping means is in the form of an ordered set of protrusions aligned with said working holes and configured to apply a clamping force through said holes in the axial direction; the protrusions are inserted into said working holes, wherein the height of said protrusions ensures flatness of the photosensitive surface of the array; photosensitive cells are then placed and temporarily fixed on said protrusions; the plane with the photosensitive cells mounted on said protrusions is lowered until contact with the adhesive and held until the adhesive completely sets.

EFFECT: improved flatness of the photosensitive surface.
