FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building. A damper consists of a piston chamber filled with oil and mounted in the cylinder housing, a piston set in the piston chamber and connected to a rod, and a rod seal. The rod seal is installed in the countersunk stepped section on the inner surface of the end wall on the rod side. The first projection of the seal has the edge to remove the oil film stuck to the outer rod surface. The second projection for the seal is located closer to the far rod end as compared to the first projection. A ring-shaped lubricant-holding element is set between the first projection and the second projection and is installed in the ring-shaped countersunk groove made on the inner surface of the rod seal section. The rod seal section is mounted in the countersunk stepped section.
EFFECT: increased service life of a damper due to reduced wear of a rod seal.
