FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of machine building. In the method, the shock absorber contains first cylinder (5), first piston (6), piston rod (7), piston guide (9) of piston rod and locking mechanism (11). Said locking mechanism includes second cylinder (12) located at the end of the first cylinder. Second piston (13) contains circular groove (14) formed around the outer circumference of the second piston. Said circular groove comprises a bottom surface, an end surface of one side and an end surface of the opposite side. Annular piston ring (17) is axially movable in the circular groove. Said piston ring has ends in the circumferential direction and is partially cut. Said piston ring includes axial fit fragments and radial fit fragments. Said locking mechanism is configured so that the first channel is formed between the end surface of the piston ring and the end surface of one side when the piston ring abuts against the end surface of one side. Said end surface is located at the end of the circular groove near the end in the first cylinder.
EFFECT: simplified design is achieved, improved impact damping with maximum stem extension.
