SUBSTANCE: method comprises staining of fresh transverse sections of grape shoots with toluidine blue and Evans blue. The extent of damage and localisation of sites of intact cambium is estimated in points: 0-2 - the shoots are considered intact, partially and average-damaged; 3 - damaged shoots in favourable conditions can regenerate; 4-5 - the shoots are considered greatly damaged, dead and need to be removed.
EFFECT: method provides ease and quickness in staining procedure, long term of storage of dye solutions, determining the extent of pruning the bush.
