FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: foundry mould comprises a bottom part 1, medium parts 2, 3, 4, 5, an upper part 10, a central rod 7 with a frame in the form of a pipe 8 with holes for gas discharge, a rod 9 with elements of a gating system, a pouring basin 13 and a system of coolant supply into a cavity of a central rod. The mould is made from moulding mixes, heat accumulating capacity of which increases in direction of foundry goods wall thickness reduction, which amounts to 1.5…2.0 of thickness of foundry goods wall in the appropriate cross section. Middle parts of the mould in the area of most massive parts of the foundry goods are equipped with refrigerators. The total mass of refrigerators makes 0.07…0.14 of the foundry goods mass in the appropriate cross section. The distance between separate refrigerators does not exceed their width in cross section.
EFFECT: directed hardening of metal helps to eliminate shrinkage porosity in foundry goods, and accelerated cooling of metal provides for production of pearlite structure of cast iron on working surface of foundry goods, grinding of structure.
