FIELD: manufacture of "sleeve" type castings of cast iron with nodular graphite, mainly housings of containers for transporting waste nuclear fuel.
SUBSTANCE: casting mold includes metallic tray, lower mold-half, central core with carcass in the form of tube with holes for gas outlet and upper mold-half with members of gate-supply system, pouring basin and gas outlet pipeline. Cavity of carcass of central core is communicated with pipeline for supplying cooling agent. In upper mold-half metallic cooler is arranged for forming outer surface of bottom of casting. Wall of lower mold-half is in the form of lateral metallic cooler with outer heat insulation ceramic or sand layer. Suction part of gas outlet pipeline is arranged in cavity of core; its outlet part is arranged outside tray and it is communicated with suction off device. Total mass of metallic tray and cooler consists of 1.0 - 2.0 of mass of casting. Wall thickness of lateral cooler consists of 0.6 - 1.2 of thickness of wall of casting. Thickness of outer ceramic layer consists of 0.3 - 1.0 of thickness of casting wall.
EFFECT: elimination of flaws of cast products, fine structure of castings.
