SUBSTANCE: two-staged magnetic resonance cardiac tomography, at first non-contrast and then using a contrast agent is performed At this stage, a contrast preparation is intravenously administered into the patient, and 15-20 min later, the atrial myocardium is scanned. The produced images are process with separating delayed contrasting areas in the atrial myocardium and plotting the three-dimensional atrial repair with separated pathological segments on the basis of medium-intensity MR-signal (IS) of the atrial cavity. In each atrial layer, all IS-dependent pixels are grouped above and below medium intensity. Each group above the medium intensity in the layer is additionally clustered by signal intensity and mutual arrangement of pixels. A constant (K2) is determined for each cluster by formula: K2 = medium intensity of the cluster pixels/medium intensity of the atrial cavity. The K2 values are compared to the threshold K1. A myocardial health criterion is 1.258. If K2>K1, the cluster is considered to be a pathologically changed segment of the atrial myocardium.
EFFECT: method enables the timely detected pathologically changed segments of the atrium, and also a combination of the qualitative and spatial assessment of the detected changes.
