SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the photographic industry and particularly to apparatus for preparing photographic emulsions. The apparatus for preparing photographic emulsions via multi-jet controlled crystallisation consists of a cylindrical emulsion storage vessel with a rounded bottom and vertical plate-like flanges on the sides and a hollow cylindrical mixer immersed in said storage vessel along its vertical axis, said mixer having a volume which is 0.3-0.5% of the volume of storage vessel and having upper and lower socket pipes at an angle of 30±5 degrees to the vertical around a propeller and a turbine mounted on one shaft such that blades of the turbine are located inside the central cylindrical part. The blades of the propeller are located inside the upper socket pipe with an angle of attack of 30±5 degrees and a lower profile as for the upper socket pipe, with gaps between all blades and walls of the mixer of not more than 0.5 mm. The upper edge of the propeller protrudes over the upper edge of the socket pipe by 11.5±3.5 mm. Solutions of reactants are pumped under the lower socket pipe from diametrically opposite pipes with nipples at the ends.

EFFECT: providing efficient micro- and macro-mixing of starting reactants and the entire mass of the emulsion directly in the apparatus, implementing a technique of producing photographic emulsions with optimum dispersion characteristics of microcrystals for industrial production of photographic recording materials.
