FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: set of inventions relates to elevator control and can be used to control elevator cage movement in lifting system. Method for control of elevator cage movement in lifting system which includes machine for elevator cage movement and machine brake to prevent elevator cage movement consists in determination of cage location adjacent to boarding platform; cage door being in open position; execution of necessary operation; determination of cage movement differing from necessary movement; and stoppage of elevator cage movement by means of machine brake application in response to elevator cage movement differing from necessary movement when elevator cage is adjacent to boarding platform and door is open. Herewith, necessary operation includes necessary cage movement when it is adjacent to boarding platform and door is open. Lifting system includes hoist compartment, boarding platforms, elevator cage containing at least one door being selectively opened or closed, machine causing selective movement of cage, control device, machine brake providing resistance to elevator cage movement. Moreover, control device is made with possibility to determine elevator cage location adjacent to boarding platform, determination of elevator cage door being opened, determination of elevator cage movement differing from necessary movement corresponding to necessary operation while elevator cage is adjacent to boarding platform and door is open. Machine brake is made capable to stop elevator cage movement in response to elevator cage movement differing from necessary one while elevator cage is adjacent to boarding platform and door is open.

EFFECT: control of elevator cage movement in lifting system.
