FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for diagnostics of air swirling system serviceability in ICE intake pipe. This method consists in determination of the drive moving shaft position 140 with the help of mechanical retainer 18 acting on leverage element 13. This done to limit displacement of said drive shaft in first direction A at first check position CP1. Then, position detector 141 is used to define if drive shaft stays at said first check position CP1 or gets beyond its limits. Invention disclosed additional ways of the method implementation. Besides it discloses the device to this end.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of diagnostics.
