SUBSTANCE: at first, a sheet or mat of mineral wool is produced, in which the fibers are generally parallel to the major surfaces of the sheet, and the lamellar segments are cut from the sheet or the mat, corresponding in width to the required thickness of insulation. Then, cutting is carried out between the two adjacent lamellar segments, which is carried out in such a manner that the lamellar segments remain attached to each other by a thin neck.

EFFECT: reliable manipulation with narrow insulation lamellae during their transportation without pressing them into gaps between the conveyors.
