FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: Q-switched laser comprises a housing with a reflector, inside of which there is a pumping lamp and an active element. A fixed semitransparent mirror and covering prism mounted on a motor shaft are placed on the optical axis of the housing at opposite ends of the active element. The housing is in the form of a single block with two parallel openings, one of which is the reflector, and in the second opening, parallel to the active element, there is a motor with a covering prism mounted on its shaft, wherein a rectangular prism with a hypotenuse reflecting face is fixed between the covering prism and the end of the active element. One of the side faces of the prism is directed towards the end of the active element and the other is directed towards the covering prism, wherein the faces of the rectangular prism with a hypotenuse reflecting face are perpendicular to the plane in which the axis of rotation of the covering prism and the optical axis of the active element lie. The semitransparent mirror of the cavity is mounted on the housing on the side of the opposite end of the active element perpendicular to its optical axis.

EFFECT: maximum reduction of the dimensions of the laser while improving mechanical and temperature resistance thereof.
