FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method of determination of the liquid metal level in a process vessel is offered; the liquid metal flows there from another process vessel designed as a stream according to which which the longitudinal electromagnetic oscillations are ecited in the open UHF resonator formed by a set of metal mirror over the liquid metal surface and this surface. Thus the liquid metal stream is supplied through the hole in the central part of the metal mirror, and the radius of curvature of the metal mirror is comparable with the distance between it and the surface of liquid metal, and in the formed open UHF resonator the longitudinal electromagnetic oscillations are excited with an azimuthal index not less than 20 at the fixed resonant frequency and its value is found according to which the level of liquid metal is obvious.
EFFECT: expansion of application field.
