FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device for measuring the substance level in an open metal container, comprising a cavity resonator in the form of a set of the container cavity and the reflector of the electromagnetic waves connected to its open surface, connected to the cavity resonator by, at least, one coupling element of the electronic unit for excitating the electromagnetic oscillations in the resonator and measuring its resonance frequency. The reflector of the electromagnetic waves is in the form of a lattice, located on the container surface on the same plane therewith, of the combination of several, in particular of 3 to 7, metal lines connected to the container at the contact points. The shape and location of the metal lines in the plane corresponds to the shape and location of the electric field lines of the electromagnetic oscillations for the type thereof excited in the cavity resonator.
EFFECT: expanding application field by providing the possibility of conducting measurements in the containers without the need to increase their height, which can be, in principle, necessary during the manufacturing operations through the open container surface.
