SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a content playback device/system and a control information providing server. Disclosed is a content playback device which includes: a playback control unit that controls playback of link-type content including a plurality of scenarios, wherein each scenario is a single time axis stream and includes content data and control information regarding playback of the content data on the time axis of the scenario; and a control information acquisition unit that acquires the control information. The playback control unit controls the playback of the link-type content by reproducing the content data in accordance with the control information including event information used to transition from a current scenario to another scenario.
EFFECT: providing an improved content playback device, capable of playing back link-type content which includes a plurality of scenarios generated by content data and control information.
