METHOD FOR DYNAMIC MAGNETIC RESONANCE DIAGNOSTICS OF PELVIC PROLAPSE Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61B5/55 A61K49/06

Abstract RU 2551186 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: static magnetic resonance tomography of pelvic organs is performed in three projections with using T2-suspended images. That is followed by performing dynamic MRT and Valsalva test in sagittal and axial planes. The examination involves the endovaginal and endorectal contrast enhancement with sterile ultrasonic gel. A horizontal line is drawn on the sagittal T2-suspended MR image from an inferior edge of the pubic symphysis to a posterior edge of the puborectal muscle. If observing the pelvic displacement below the horizontal line on the dynamic MRT with Valsalva test from 0.1cm to 2.0cm, the first degree of prolapse is stated, the displacement of 2.1cm to 4.0cm shows the second degree, and the displacement exceeding 4.0cm shows the third degree.

EFFECT: method enables providing more accurate diagnosis of the pelvic prolapse by the integrated examination and assessment of the anatomic pelvic floor structures with the endovaginal and endorectal contrast enhancement.
