METHOD FOR DYNAMIC MAGNETIC RESONANCE DIAGNOSIS OF MALIGNANT TUMOURS OF OVARIES Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A61B5/55 A61K49/06

Abstract RU 2578184 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, oncology, gynaecology, x-ray diagnostics. Lower pelvis magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is conducted using T1-spin echo signal with suppression of fatty tissue FATSAT signal in axial plane with section thickness of 2.5 mm and scanning pitch of 0.3 mm prior to introduction of contrast agent (CA) and after 30, 60, 90, 120 and 150 s after its introduction. Cutout is selected from series of images with best visualisation of formation of ovary. Then, in structure of intact piriform muscle and solid component of ovarian formation the most homogeneous zone should be selected, which is considered as area of interest. Perfusion curves of signal intensity dependance of time are plotted to determine CA accumulation amplitude (AA) in area of intact piriform muscle interest. If its value is exceeding 115% CA distribution of investigated region is considered to be correct and sufficient for diagnostics. At that, for solid component of ovary formation by perfusion curves AA CA, half elevation signal intensity (SI) period, maximum curvature curve (MCC) should be determined and in case if mentioned parameters values are as follows: AA CA is more than 127 %, reducing period of SI half elevation is less than 30.2 with MCC of more 4.25 %/s ovarian tumour is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method provides more accurate diagnosis of malignant tumours of ovary by assessing the perfusion of solid component formation that in turn, has effect on optimum selection of therapeutic approach and extent of surgical intervention.
