FIELD: veterinary science.
SUBSTANCE: side abdominal wall is cut from the crossing of two lines - a line corresponding to the project of the last rib onto skin, and a line connecting cross costal processes of lumbar vertebra. With the access from the left the cut is made in cranio-ventro-caudal direction, at the angle of 40 degrees to the last rib. With the access from the right the cut is made in dorso-ventral direction, in parallel to the rib arc. Muscles are cut by blunt method along the muscle fibres. The peritoneum is picked with haemostatic pincers and pulled to a wound, the peritoneum fold is cut.
EFFECT: creation of optimal conditions for surgery on a kidney in cats and dogs, its improved results, reduced time for intervention and its lower injury rate.
